What is the hype over Sustainable Daylighting Design for the Fulton Street Subway in New York City?

Sustainable Daylighting Design may not be that new a concept for some, yet it is something that people
still now do not much about. Okay in simple words daylighting can
be explained as a process that is used to light up rooms by conserving energy in
the best possible ways. Not to mention that this is a healthy habit to start
with save Mother Earth. The city of Manhattan has come up with new a glass
building that has put this perception in effect. Read on to know more.

Is it necessary?
Over the last few years I have noticed a steep rise in the crimes against women around the world. It would be unfair of me if I say that this has increased in my state only or my country because of the government and its lenient policies. It is very easy to blame others as we choose the government, then blame it for its failures or leave no scope to look for the loop holes in its governance. The point that I am trying to make is to try to put a stop against such crimes.

PIRACY IN SOMALIA
What is piracy and armed robbery in ocean waters? The answer to this question is rather not simple and yet not very complicated . Piracy is a term used to describe acts of armed robbery and other malicious acts against ships in international waters. They are carried out with the intent of stealing valuables on borad the ship/and or extorting money from shipowners or other third party interests by holding the ship or the crew for ransom . The International Maritime Bureau (IMB) defines piracy as the act of boarding a vessel with an intent to commit theft or any other crime, and with an intent or capacity to use forces in furtherence of the act. Since this defination reflects the popular understanding of the word piracy and furthermore piracy in Somalia and Gulf of Aden, so we will see some statistics down below to have a fair knowledge about this subject .
Armed attacks on merchant vessels transiting from Gulf of Aden, and other waters near Horn of Africa have increased considerably in the past few years. Such acts have usually been conducted with the use of threat of violence. This can be particularly traumatic for those directly involved in this actual scenario as well as the family members of these seafarers sitting miles away and praying for their loved ones.
A study has been released by a political and economic intelligence consultancy firm for the delegates ahead of an International Piracy Conference that began in Dubai in mid of 2011 is one of the first efforts to chart the economics behind piracy. The figures revealed focus on the extent of the problems with the piracy attacks and hint at record level attacks and huge monetary compensations set to swell the rank of pirates by 2015. The efforts by vigilante Somali fishermen in the mid 1990s to protect the coastal waters around Somalia mainly by fishing have rapidly advanced to piracy and now outspreads to some 2.5 million square nautical miles off Somalia’s coastline. Somali piracy is valued at $238 million until 2010 and is now set to rise to $400 million by 2015. The cost of piracy prevention could essentially double in the same period from $8.3 billion in 2010 to about $15 billion in 2015. The sustained growth of piracy powered by organized and armed gangs using “motherships” to enable them to attack further afield, could see the number of pirates rising considerably around this region. The study predicts that these piracy incidents will expand substantially beyond Somali waters since they are a part of a complicated piracy value chain ranging from financial backers to accountants and arms dealers. A UN source concurred that research of this nature is vital and a comprehensive study is required so as to have a united approach to eradicate this issue by the joint patrolling authorities based on shared intelligence .

The plight of Indian Customers
There is not much to discuss about the plight of Indian
customers for sure. We Indians live in such a country where we are thankful to
get services and products by paying our own money. Little do we know about big
concepts like that of customer service, customer delight and customer satisfaction.
We simply derive our delight as customers from the simple fact that we finally
succeed in getting a product intact without much of a difficulty!
The plight of Indian customers is such that we have stand in
long queues to clear our bills. We are not at all bothered as we are grateful
to get our products in one piece that we pay from our own pocket. There is no
one to provide any kind of customer service to us in the true sense. But yes I
have served in a few well known BPO’s where I have catered to queries by
foreigners with different issues. Be it for Lipitor or for their checking
account, I have done it all. Not only this, but I made sure that I have
followed the principles of customer delight and customer satisfaction with a
dash of my effective communication skills.
Then how come the same business houses shrug off their
shoulders when they come to the Indian subcontinent? Here I wouldn’t dare talk
about our own indigenous honchos who have always failed to do anything meaningful
in regards to customer service. Again coming back to their overseas counterparts,
what can be said is that they have double faced policies. Yes of course, one
for developed countries like US, UK, and Australia and another for developing
countries like India! I fail to understand this business policy as well as our typical
Indian mentality that is happy to get products without any real value added
service with it. Such is the plight of Indian customers today!

What Makes a Good Writer?
Good writing is not only about writing grammatically correct sentences. Writing is a blend of two very different things in the right proportion. These two things can be named as logic and art. Hence a good writer has to strike a balance between rationality and aesthetics. This means a good writer cannot run the risk of creating an imbalance between the two entities.
Another way of explaining a good writer would to judge them based on the area of work they choose. In this case a first-rate writer would think about the target audience. Along with this there are many other parameters that need to be considered while writing. In fact such restriction depends on the genre of writing. For instance novel writing, short story writing, content writing for SEO’s or even an academic writing demands for diverse techniques of inscription. In short a good writer will always compose captivating scripts.

Edward Norton the environmentalist

This is a fact that Edward Norton is an environmentalist surely believes in solar energy. He hails from a family of environmentalists which makes him an environment enthusiast naturally. It all started with his grandfather who founded Enterprise Foundation which Norton says is the “largest nonprofit developer of affordable housing in the country.” His father and two of his siblings are all diligently working to conserve energy for a long time. His father is the director of Yunnan Great Rivers Nature Conservancy project in China. His siblings are also associated with similar projects in the U.S.
Besides all this his contribution to the society is huge. Ever since a tender age he had been involved with conserving energy and projects related to it. For this he believes in solar power and its judicial use. That is how he came up with the idea of BP Solar Neighbors™ Program. This program focuses on producing electricity which is pollution free especially for low income group households in California. It has a very interesting and unique way of working. For every celebrity joining the BP Solar Neighbors™ Program a solar system or photovoltaic (PV) are gifted to low income groups. Celebrities like Salma Hayek, Brad Pitt, Danny DeVito, Daryl Hannah, Alicia Silverstone Will Ferrell, Pierce Brosnan, Owen Wilson and Tom Hanks are a few who have joined the brigade.
Not only this, he is very much into hybrid cars. He makes sure when he is traveling that he books a car from only those rental services which have hybrid cars readily available. He says “I don't actually own a car.” He believes in the art of recycling as well. The only thing he reluctantly uses is the flight service. He is a frequent flyer and does not know how to put an end to that. On a lighter note he says “I haven't figured out how to tackle that one yet.”
Female Workforce: Dispensable Workforce?

Is the female workforce a dispensable workforce or not can be better explained in this discussion. To start with it can be said that the female workforce has become quite dependable in any industry. This proves the whole concept about female workforce which was prevalent in yester years completely wrong. Today women are present in all fields and have demonstrated to be successful by all means.
It has been observed in the past that female workforce has given an impetus to the economy of any country. It was only after the World War II that women started coming out of their shell and joined workforces. Soon the world started to look at them in a way beyond a homemaker. The fairer sex actually helped nations out of the Great Depression as well. Soon their contribution started to be looked as an important part of the society.
Now it looks like as if the female workforce has become an imminent part of any industry. The argument should be based on the fact whether they are better than men or not. It should be considered that if they join forces the world will evolve into a developed planet that no one can destroy ever for sure.
These days most of the sectors have become dependent on the female workforce to some extent. Some of these sectors believe in equality of the genders for which there are laws safeguarding their interests as well. The only cloud that surrounds this area is regarding the pay scale. Many believe that there are companies that do not believe in equal for all. However this is not the case as this is a just a misconception. It is time that men and women work in harmony and make the world a better place from all aspects.
