This is a fact that Edward Norton is an environmentalist surely believes in solar energy. He hails from a family of environmentalists which makes him an environment enthusiast naturally. It all started with his grandfather who founded Enterprise Foundation which Norton says is the “largest nonprofit developer of affordable housing in the country.” His father and two of his siblings are all diligently working to conserve energy for a long time. His father is the director of Yunnan Great Rivers Nature Conservancy project in China. His siblings are also associated with similar projects in the U.S.
Besides all this his contribution to the society is huge. Ever since a tender age he had been involved with conserving energy and projects related to it. For this he believes in solar power and its judicial use. That is how he came up with the idea of BP Solar Neighbors™ Program. This program focuses on producing electricity which is pollution free especially for low income group households in California. It has a very interesting and unique way of working. For every celebrity joining the BP Solar Neighbors™ Program a solar system or photovoltaic (PV) are gifted to low income groups. Celebrities like Salma Hayek, Brad Pitt, Danny DeVito, Daryl Hannah, Alicia Silverstone Will Ferrell, Pierce Brosnan, Owen Wilson and Tom Hanks are a few who have joined the brigade.
Not only this, he is very much into hybrid cars. He makes sure when he is traveling that he books a car from only those rental services which have hybrid cars readily available. He says “I don't actually own a car.” He believes in the art of recycling as well. The only thing he reluctantly uses is the flight service. He is a frequent flyer and does not know how to put an end to that. On a lighter note he says “I haven't figured out how to tackle that one yet.”
